Dulsori Biography

Dulsori, primarily aims to rekindle the spirit of ancient Korean festivals. A festival is a place where everyone's energy combines together to create a sense of joy in a collective manner. Dulsori can never reach this state of festivity alone and thus needs and invites the audience to participate in the revelry.

The fundamental basis of Dulsori's creative work is through various Korean percussions. Since the beginning of Dulsori this group has tried many different kinds of performances based on the traditional rhythms of Korea. As a result, Dulsori has developed unique
performances and interactive programs which encourage audience members to take part in the performances. Dulsori believes in creating a sense of community and understands the existence and importance of communal values in every culture. Dulsori's performances and interactive programs attempt to build harmony and unity between the audience members and performers, thereby forming a sense of harmony.

Since 1984, Dulsori has been taking the Korean percussive style known as pungmul to a whole new level. The performers use kkwaenggwari (small handheld gong), janggu (hourglass drum), buk (barrel drum), jing (gong) and numerous other percussions with an
astounding choreography to create beats that stirs the audience.

Dulsori's energetic and passionate team has staged hundreds of international performances and recently toured in Australia, Israel, Africa and across Europe. The group also conducts workshops, classes, and camps on Korean traditional arts, open to all age
groups.
