Children's Workshops

This year WOMAD artists 'Art Angels' and 'Taking Shape' will be leading workshops every morning and afternoon through from Thursday to Saturday. Using 'Food Glorious Food' as their central theme they have come up with some wonderful plans for creating and making costumes, flags, amazing headdresses, miraculous mobiles and many other inventive ideas to contribute to the 'Grand Procession' on Sunday 10 May which will make it's way from Plaza San Jorgé through Caceres old town and down into the Plaza Mayor.

Art Angels Biography

'Art Angels' bring their combined experience in environmental, performance and visual arts to Caceres with a witty take on the theme of 'Food'. Children will help create an enormous bowl of fruit, brimming over with giant bananas, mangoes, oranges and pineapples. Catch them designing jaunty paella aprons, super chef's hats and salad vegetable mobiles. Try your hand at their magical mix of techniques.

Taking Shape Biography

'Taking Shape' has a background in art and design, sculpture and theatre settings with a broad range of teaching experience. Come and help them construct Big Chef with his saucepan full of surprises. Look out for a fantastic array of tablecloth flags, food hats, flying carrots, spinning kitchen implements and fantasy food on sticks. Dip your fingers into lots of different techniques and come up with something totally tasty for the procession.
