WOMAD

So far we've been sent a gorgeous bundle of memories and photos and have really really enjoyed them all... We thought we'd share one that made us all chuckle. Thanks Laura Keay

"My husband and I first went to Womad in 2008. We went to the taste the world tent to see an African Harpist (I'm a harpist so was of interest). The music was fab but the cookery was so funny! He got up on the stage and the interviewer started talking to him about what he was going to cook. "Rice and beans" came the reply. She kept probing him for more ingredients that he was going to put in.. spices, herbs etc? "no, it's just rice and beans". So you fry the beans or soak them overnight? "no just rice and beans". She was trying so hard to make the recipe more complex but it was just a very simple african dish! Now whenever my husband and I have rice and beans we laugh and it reminds us of good times!"
