Are you a visual artist, dancer, musician, puppeteer, storyteller or face painter? Are you interested in leading Children's Workshops at WOMAD this year?
We welcome proposals from all artists to lead workshops in our Children's Area. Every year at WOMAD we host a huge variety of children's workshops on site between 9am and 7pm. The Children's Parade on the Sunday is a WOMAD institution with the children's creations on show for all to see in the procession.
This year our theme is 'Floating and Flying'. We'd love to hear from people with proposals to animate the theme and make this year's workshop and final processsion even more colourful and vibrant than ever! Please email proposals to mandy.adams@womad.org by March 15th.

FOOD
WOMAD is famed for its extensive array of exotic foodstuffs and made a commitment to filling festival-goers' bellies with quality fare long before other festivals realised dinner at an event in a field needn't consist of a dirt-burger. We can guarantee you'll find food on offer at WOMAD you won't find at any other festival. If you have a creative culinary idea please get in touch.
INDEPENDENT ARTS & CRAFTS
WOMAD is a long-time champion of independent arts and crafts and our Global Markets contains amazing items you're unlikely to discover at any other music festival in the UK.
INNOVATIVE CHARITIES
We're always interested in supporting worthwhile causes. If you have cause, initiative or charity that fits with WOMAD please get in touch.

WOMAD is set to return to the Spanish town of Cáceres for the 22nd time over the weekend of 10-12 May 2013. Described in the Guardian as "possibly the most authentically medieval and Renaissance city still in existence", Cáceres offers one of the world's more unique festival settings.
And one of the best things about WOMAD Cáceres? Entrance is absolutely FREE!
Both music stages are located in plazas around the ancient city, which is an impressive mish-mash of Roman, Italian Renaissance, Moorish and Gothic architecture. The main stage, which has seen sets from the likes of Ska Cubano, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Femi Kuti in the past, overlooks the Plaza Mayor, while the more intimate, smaller stage is situated on the Plaza San Jorge. Here, at times during the weekend, the square gets so packed that festival-goers scale the sides of the walls and hang off the window guards to glimpse a sight of the artists on offer.
Above Plaza San Jorge, the Centro de Exposiciones houses the children's workshops. Expect an explosion of brightly coloured paint, streamers, glitter and glue throughout the weekend in this area. And expect more of the same on the Sunday when the kids wind their way through Cáceres' ancient streets showing off their inspired creations in the annual children's parade.
Also expect to eat well. Cáceres is famed for its stews, roast meats, fried breadcrumbs, trout, pastries and honey. All of this, alongside local arts and crafts and other gorgeous gifts are available in the vibrant market on the cobbled streets of Las Valetas.
Getting there
Situated close to the Portuguese border in Extremadura in Western Spain, Cáceres nearest airport is Madrid, which is a four-hour drive away.
Accommodation
As befits a city festival, there is no camping, but Cáceres offers plenty of accommodation for festival-goers. There are details about booking accommodation ranging from budget to luxury from the Cáceres tourist office here.
