  He made a very brief appearance with Khaled but why didn't he pop up elsewhere, preferrable with Afro Celts/Dhol Foundation? Very disappointed indeed

  Yes I agree...some people moaned about him but he really kn ew what the essence of WOMAD was and was a great MC. I loved his smiling face year after year and would love him back. Its just not the same without him.

  He's the best MC Womad have ever had imho. Not like them shouty so and so's who are always yelling 'Make some Noise!'.

  Someone on this forum complained about Johnny - can't remember who it was. Agree about the stupid MC's Mcgrooger, especially when they get the name of the festival town wrong too. Only Hugh Masekela is allowed to do that

  Very glad to see John
  ny on the stage with Khaled..it's not a true WOMAD without him. He is a great mc as he loves the music and doesn't have to pretend to be enthusiastic to get the crowd going and also a great musician....Dhol Foundation sorely missed BOOK 'EM For 2013 NOW GUYS!

  I think johnny kalsi is brilliant and i like the dohl foundation, saying that i think a few people found him annoying and took a dislike to him popping up everywhere and started a forum swell against him and his drums and then he didnt appear again sadly, to be fair he was so eager to please and so positive and high on the womad idea he was a bit over exposed and he did seem to be performing with every band and doing the announcing too and some people are irked by positivity. I say bring back JK and his dohl foundation cos you dont know what miss till its gone and he is a brilliant bloke.
