  I didn't realise that Crazy Horses was a Gabriel song, Steve, - but anyway, if we can't have the man himself (and it's looking unlikely) then a mass Gabriel singalong in front of the main stage sounds a pretty good substitute.

  How cool would this be? Peter has said he's coming to Womad but is not playing so if he gets wind of our Gabriel sing along he might come along and offer us and impromptu performance?? xxx

  . . . some of the countless classic Realworld / WOMAD performers of years gone by. . . to name a few (off the top of my head) - Geoffrey Oryema, Afro Celts, Youssou, Jah Wobble, Rachid Taha, Drummers of Burundi, the many great Italian folk bands (Spaccanapoli - what happened to them?), David Byrne, Patrick Duff, Andy White, The Pogues, Echo & The Bunnymen, more incredible African musicians than I can remember (some sadly no longer with us - Remmy! SE Rogie!), Imagined Village, Syriana, Trans Global Underground, Natasha Atlas, Trio Joubran, Magnetic Fields. . . I don't mean to be prescriptive. . . I just thought that perhaps for 30 years of womad they could have invited some of the old timers. . . "big" names or otherwise. . . I hardly recognise any names his year (except the obvious). Or is that a good thing? ?????????????????????? ???????? ?????

  Well I'm relatively young in my journey into world music so I never recognise any of the names . . . . even the big names . . . and I always have the best time of my life!! xxx
