  WOMAD Charlton Park 2011 had some real highlights, but in my experience didn't come close to 2010. This was mainly because 2010 had such strong representation from Africa. The crowd in 2011 was very strongly caucasian, and the line up insufficiently African.

  2010 saw such brilliant acts like Rango and Sierra Leone Refugee all stars, Afro Celt of course and more more more, from Africa. That said Baaba Maal was stupendous in 2011 and the whole weekend was worthwhile for seeing him, and Iarla O'Lionaird was magical.

  So for me my request for 2012 is lots and lots of Africa please. Africa is the home of music and we need more representation, both in the acts and the crowd and I assume the latter will follow the former. Baaba Maal, Afro Celt, Rango, Mamadou Sarr, Nuru Kane, Metzo Djatah are some of the names I love but there are so000 many more.
