  Great Tits Watch:

  Much of a sameness, really; chicks slightly larger than yesterday, still being fed and toiletted with great rapidity throughout the day. Titty doesn’t sleep during the day anymore – she finally puts her head under her wing about 8.30pm. The rain hasn’t stemmed the flow of feeding; all is as it should be.

  The joys of parenthood

  Yeah SS We're talking Clearwell, alright. I'm still hopeful they might put on a nice back to back movie show beforehand. "Descent" and "Descent 2". Good family entertainment!

  Charlotte is a good potato..but we could start a competition for a new name if you like S.C......

  so far only broad beans and peas have dared show their heads above ground..all else sitting tight!

  SS what exemplary parents Titty and Titan are..no time for socialising..those little fledglings sound to be blooming..how long ttill they start exercising their wings..should be interesting in such a confined space!

  after all this gallivanting it's now head down for work in a serious way but still time for flying practice and

  Great Tit Watch
  A bit of sad news; Titty last seen sitting on the nest at 1.45pm, but as at 2.00pm the chicks seem to have been attacked and abandoned. All still in the nest. Could have been a rival Great Tit male or any other bird that can get in a Great Tit sized hole. This may have been how there came to be three hatchlings in last years nest. Fret not, for this is the way of things. A second nest was built directly over the first, last year, and a second brood raised and fledged safely, so let’s hope for that now.

  Cal N Del - thanks for the heads up - hubby will be doing the download of the podcast so we can enjoy Munners too; just wish there were more hours in the day!

  I was there last November, Baz - they were getting the caves ready for Christmas - looked fabulous!

  oh SS that IS sad news way of the world or not..any sign of Titty and Titan? last year the blackbird nest was robbed -magpie I think and the poor parents flew around in shock and distress checking the nest in disbelief...
