  Womad is for everyone who wants to be there. Please no calls for legislation on behaviour, apart from usual norms of thuggishness etc. of course people keep a place for their mates, sometimes they make it sometimes they dont. Womad is the size of a small town now, shit happens sometimes, but actually rarely in our lovely Womad world compared to everyday life. It would be nice if everyone was considerate all the time, but get real! To be honest the quality of punter at Womad is far superior to any other festy I have been to, read reviews of Reading and Download if you doubt. If someone is talking loudly at a quiet gig, ask them nicely to be quiet. It usually works. Peer pressure is an amazing thing.
  I for one am delighted to see such a diverse (age/origin/ability) audience have such a good time together. Together in tolerance we shall overcome! And have a brilliant party.

  Another brilliantly successful Womad! WELL DONE! Great atmosphere and great choice of music. High point was AXEL KRYGIER. WOW!!!

  Just a couple of things which have been mentioned above. Quite a bit of feedback during "The Magic Tombolinos" in the Blue tent and TOO MUCH BASS. When you cannot distinguish the pitch of an instrument, it is time to turn it down. The poor saxophonist and accordionist looked like they were miming.
  Had to buy the CD just to hear them.......Also at the Charlie Gillet stage with the Scottish band on Saturday evening, the same problems really spoiled my enjoyment.
  I don't feel that I should have to wear ear plugs at a music festival. Sound engineers take a leaf out of the BBC Radio 3 stage. Pretty much bang on here.

  The other, I don't think you can do much about, but really annoying to bag a great spot and have someone light up right beside you.

  I think security was effective. Witnessed a nasty fight last year but all was calm wherever I wandered this year.

  Keep up the good work and hear you next year with a bit less bass.

  Yes they are, because even with the sides off they are enclosed spaces, which as a non smoker I'm ok with.
  A lot more weed smell this year I thought, I saw a short women flogging what looked like packets of Old Hoborn in the stalls area on Sat Night, maybe it was something more aromatic!

  i agree DT! i was in the big red for NEXTMEN and OMG!! the tent was filled! it was a bit much at times but hey ho each to their own

  (And what constitutes a "group" anyway?) It seems that what you're saying is that you want people to behave in a particular way.

  I find it difficult enough to sort out what I want to see, and get to see it, without the additional burden of trying to police or manipulate what others do and how they do it. I'm "womad" enough to just let all the other festival-goers organise their own behaviour and responses.

  If some people want to stay with their families, friends, significant others, etc., then it's "necessary" to them, and they don't need to justify their preferences, behaviour or choices to anyone else.

  If you happen to find yourself dancing away from your group, in front of the stage amid several other groups, in chairs, on blankets or dangling from the trees in the arboretum, you should, by your own definition, be as happy as the proverbial pig wallowing in excrement!

  Funny how the people who post after WOMAD are a completely different set from those who post before. Could this be why the mood before is upbeat and exciting and the mood after is confrontational and moany!
