I think its a great line up and there are lots of people I want to discover - but I was expecting something a bit more special for the 30th, and I was really hoping it would open with the Drummers of Burundi. So - a fanatstic line up for a normal Womad but not quite as sparkling as I'd hoped for the 30th!
Am I the only person who isn't planning on seeing Robert Plant?
Missed feufollet because of Gogol Bordello last year - not going to make the mistake of getting distracted by a big name at the expense of a small name I would enjoy so much more again.

You're not alone. We're planning on doing anything and everything to avoid Percy Pants.

Yes DH and SBS, having seen him before a couple of times I think we'll be looking for alternatives, unless they plan to put a rapper on in Big Red, then I'll prob go make a cuppa.

Well just as I thought I'd finished my research! I came on here to say that all I needed now was the timetable only to find Molly's line up! Forgive me but I don't really get the whole Molly's thing?? Last year I heard they'd put a bar in festival camping .. . . is that it? But you have a stage as well? Or bands playing? And why are your bands n dj's not included in the overall Womad Lineup?? xxx

Because we are extremely special my darling... we're open late, bring a little bit [more] of je ne sais quoi to the WOMAD lineup... we have a stage, bands, cabaret, dancers, circus performers, workshops.... and electro swing DJs... check out our facebook page to understand our flavour a bit more... www.facebook.com/mollysatwomad ...and if you do come and pay us a visit (imperative, I might add!) make sure you say hello, I might take you for a swing around the dance floor :) Mxx

Well I still don't get why you're not included in the line up . . . but I deffo will stop by on those nights when the music stops n I still feel like a party! Or those nights when I can't sleep cos my heads buzzin!! Strange I didn't hear you last year! xx

Biscuithead & The Biscuit Badgers and Professor Elemental will be on our must see list (along with some single malt accompaniment)

I too am underwhelmed but it's the big names that are the problem in my case. Messrs Cliff, Khaled, Plant, Kuti, Masakela and the remains of Buena Vista are the acts I will be avoiding, the ones I've never heard of will probably be wonderful as usual.

Depends what you call a major/big act.
For me it doesn't get much more major than Boubacar Traore in terms of being a powerhouse of African music. Right up there with Ali Farka T. A big coup for Womad seeing as he's not a frequent gigger these days.
