Phew! Thank God! Actually reading your posts made me realise I've not booked it off work yet . . . I've only just gone back after maternity leave . . . . However if they deny me they will unfortunately but very politely be told to DO ONE!!!!

My mum lives in Malmesbury and their local papers have reported that there is going to be a Huge Fireworks Display to end on Sunday (wow) and some of the stages are going to be altered to allow for bigger crowds (much needed) AND special screens so we can watch the Olympics events too. YEYNESSSSSSS!!!!!

like we said it's going to be a very busy WOMAD

go for it Xxbecky..
fireworks and larger stage areas yesss! Olympics...nooooooo hoped for an O-free zone!!!
still for those who want to see it and have EVEN more difficult choices..suggestions (not rude) where to put it???

Depends how much of a resuffle WOMAD are doing, if they move the Charlie G stage somewhere more sensible, the screens would work well there. Sooooooo excited. Hurry up July!!

we hope for an O free zone too but there is always another stage
Last year the sound at the CG stage wasn't but I think it may have been at the bottom of the slop when WOMAD first went to CP (we missed that year) so it may be moved back?

Fireworks, yes, lovely - will encourage people to stay to the end. . Larger stages, yes. Olympics......no,no,no,no,no! We live Weymouth, an olympic venue and are desperate to get away from the O word. Coming to Womad to escape! I don't see the need to screen the olympics - we are there for the music, dance, food and atmosphere not to watch TV!

We were also looking forward to an Olympic free weekend and had looked on Womad as being a short escape from all that madness. Bad decision organisers! Hopefully the screens will be far, far away from the stages so that they have to actively sought out, or easily avoided!!

Again, the idea that people who like music should not like sports. I seriously have no idea where this thought comes from.

it not the people who like music don't like sport it's just that it a music festival and not a sport festival,
like the saying goes there always another stage and to be honest we don't think we'll have the time to watch the Olympic due to the great range of music
