1. SITE INFORMATION
Wristband Exchange Opening Hours
Access to the WOMAD site is by wristband only. Tickets can be exchanged for wristbands from 9am on Friday 14 March at the TSB Stadium. All people must be present for wrist-banding, including children. This will ensure speedy access to the official site. Otherwise, you will be wrist-banded at the WOMAD entry points and you may experience delays. For the duration of the festival wristband must not be removed from your wrist ? you will be declined access if your wristband has been removed.
First Aid and Emergency
First Aid is located on the ground floor inside the TSB Stadium. In the event of an emergency please advise the Camp Manager or Camp Staff and you must adhere to directions given by the Camp Manager & Camp Staff.
Information Centre
The WOMAD Daily News Information Centre is adjacent to the WOMAD Global Village.
Security
Security is on site at all times, however we ask you to be vigilant and please ensure that valuables are locked in your vehicle at all times. WOMAD takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.
Lost/Found Children
In case young children become separated from adults, we suggest you make sure your child knows your cell phone number (or you may consider writing your cell phone number on your child?s arm etc). Please contact the WOMAD Daily News Information Centre Supervisor if your child is lost.
Festival Programmes
Programmes will be available at the Wristband Exchange.
Litter
WOMAD is implementing a Zero Waste policy, therefore please use the recycle waste bins provided.
Lost/Found Property
Any CAMP SITE property found or lost can be handed in or collected from the TSB Stadium Office.
Any WOMAD SITE property found or lost can be handed in or collected from the WOMAD Daily News Information Centre.
Cash Machine and EFTPOS
A cash machine is located at the back of the WOMAD Daily News Information Centre and EFTPOS facilities are available at the WOMAD Bars.
Animals
No animals, except Guide dogs, are allowed on site.
Facilities near the festival site
Service stations, supermarkets and food outlets are available five minutes from the racecourse, down Gover Street towards the city. There is also a full waste disposal facility for camper vans at the Mobil Service Station located at the corner of Leach and Elliot Streets.
2. WOMAD CAMPSITE
Overnight the WOMAD campsite, situated a few minutes walk from the WOMAD site, mushrooms into a colourful tent city. There?s a quiet place for family camping and and campervans, house buses and caravans are also very welcome.
Campsite Opening Hours
The Camp Site opens at 9am Friday 14 March - NO EXCEPTIONS. Departure time is by 10am on Monday 17 March.
Camp Office
The Camp Office is located on the ground floor, inside the TSB Stadium. On arrival you will be checked in by our Welcome Team and your Camping or Marae voucher will be collected.
Camp Managers
Your Camp Managers are Doug Bird and Dave Hare. They can be found in the Camp Office. Doug, Dave, or a Duty Manager will be on duty at all times.
Parking
If you wish to use your vehicle during the weekend please park separately in the public car park. If you do NOT wish to use your vehicle you may park on the campsite.
General Camping
This area is situated in the centre of the racecourse oval and is accessed as directed across the track (details below). Please note: There will be horses training on the grass track between 7am and 8am on Saturday morning. This training session will be marshalled throughout but there will be no movement across the grass track either from or to the camping ground in the centre oval between these times.
Diasbled Campers
Please advise us on your arrival and we will assist with appropriate Camp or Marae locations and facilities.
Family Camping Area
For family groups with children located between the Racecourse and the TSB Stadium adjacent to the Camping Registration/Welcome point.
Motor Homes
Motor homes and self contained vehicles must go to the designated area in General Camping.
Toilets and showers in the Campsite
Showers and toilets (including disabled) located on both floors of the TSB Stadium. Additional showers and toilets are located in the Tuson and La Mer Stands of the Stadium. Temporary facilities are located in the Family and General campsites.
Power in the Campsite
There is no power available in the campsite.
Walking from the Campsite to the WOMAD Site
A walking track is signposted from the Campsite to the WOMAD site, follow the road behind the La Mer stand past the racecourse sheds, past the entrance to the General Camping Site, and follow the track to the main tar sealed roadway leading down to the TSB Bowl of Brooklands. Artist coaches use this access, too, so please exercise caution.
3. MARAE STYLE ACCOMMODATION
No need for a tent if you sleep marae-style! Situated in the Tuson Stand and TSB Stadium, marae-style accommodation is a great way to meet people. Mattresses are provided, just don?t forget your sleeping bag and pillow. Marae-style accommodation includes a light breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Marae Parking
Please park in the sealed car parks as directed, in front of the TSB Stadium and opposite the rear of the Tuson Stand.
Marae Breakfasts
Two breakfasts are included in the Marae Style accommodation ticket. Present your voucher, which will be supplied at wrist banding, in exchange for a camp breakfast at the La Mer Stand café. Breakfast from 7am - 11am on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Marae Toliets and Showers
Showers and toilets (including disabled) located on both floors of the TSB Stadium. Additional toilets are located in the Tuson and La Mer Stands of the Stadium. There are both showers and toilets available in the Jockeys Changing Area which is accessed from ground floor trackside of the La Mer Stand.
4. OTHER ACCOMMODATION IN THE AREA
Hotels, motels, B&Bs, homestays and campsites are all available in Taranaki for those who do not wish to stay on the festival site.
