WOMAD Cáceres in Extremadura, Spain Thursday 8th - Sunday 11th May.

WOMAD is returning to the beautiful ancient city of Cáceres for its eighteenth year, bringing with it a fantastic mix of international artists, workshops for all, food from around the world and a global village of merchandise stalls.

Plaza Major, Plaza de Santa Maria, Plaza de Las Veletas and Plaza de San Mateo will be hives of activities within the city. Plaza de San Mateo is offering the delights of Taste The World, Gran Teatro will be illuminated by children's workshops, Plaza de San Jorge and Plaza de Veletas will host the adult workshops and all stages will see performances by some of the world's finest artists.

The festival will begin on Thursday with a performance from an acclaimed artist and supported by a local band. Friday and Saturday will be filled with workshops and performances by artists throughout the day and into the evening.

On Sunday at 12:45pm there will be an explosion of colour and music as the children show off their artwork, created in the workshops, in the Grand Procession that will make its way through the city accompanied by the Zimbabwean group, Siyaya. The procession will leave from Gran Teatro for a final celebration in the Plaza Major. We'll see you there!
