Born in London to Trinidadian parents, the artist now known as ‘Z’ spent 10 years back in the Caribbean, soaking up the island’s rich musical heritage and mixing it up with the styles of great blueswomen such as Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey. The result is her own soulful twist on blues and poetry.
