To witness Tribal Drift warm up an audience, run them through their paces a little, raise the tempo some, change into warp speed and blow the lid off the tent to make space for the collective enthusiasm they have created, is one of the recurring delights of the festival scene in the UK. A didg-led outfit, bursting with multi-instrumental talent, Tribal Drift cartwheel through the possibilities of organic house music with a deftness that makes it look easy. They have recently produced a new album, 'Priority Shift', with the innovative On-U Sound record label which is frankly disappointing, considering the previous pedigree of both outfits. This may well be a result of their line-up changes. We can only hope that they settle back into their proven ability to produce the goods and avoid the production of another expensive coffee mug coaster.
