Tony Backhouse

Before moving to Australia in 1981, Tony Backhouse was instrumental in numerous notable bands in New Zealand, including Mammal, and the Crocodiles. Since his shift across the Tasman, Tony has sung and played with many of the greats including Renee Geyer, Joe Walsh and Jenny Morris, and arranged and recorded backing vocals for Dave Dobbyn, Tim Finn, Vince Jones and Kate Ceberano. He now heads the celebrated gospel choir Café at the Gate of Salvation, and is a highly sought-after vocal coach.
