The Birkins

From Canary Islands

It is a marriage between British pop traditions and French chanson for The Birkins, a band which firmly believes in knowing the past in order to bring a contemporary sound. In 2009 their song, Who Are They was chosen from more than 1500 demos -coming in from all over the Spanish territory- by a panel of Radio 3 journalists. Their prize was to be one of the contesters at Heineken Greenspace in Valencia. After defending their music live, they won the first prize and started to build a name for themselves in Spain. They have just recorded their first album with producer Paco Loco in Cadiz, featuring collaborations with American singer, Dayna Kurtz, and American keyboardists Roger Manning Jr. and Rami Jaffee. The album, which has been mixed by John Agnello and mastered by Greg Calbi in New York is due to be released early next year.
