The extraordinary trio of Ian Herman, Gito Baloi and Steve Newman has stunned audiences since the forming of Tananas in 1988 and the release of their self-titled debut. The once essentially instrumental band have evolved their earthly style of eclectically uniformed percussions, and breathing, beating guitars to incorporate the evocative voice of Gito Baloi, who sings in Shangaan, Tsonga and Portuguese on the band’s critically acclaimed, sixth studio album, Seed.
