From France, Mali

The group SMOD was born in 2000, created by Sam, Mouzy, Ousco and Donski.

In 2002, with the help of Amadou&Mariam´s manager, they edited their first album, Dunia Kuntala (the course of life). The album received a great acceptance in Mali and the group goes through all stages of the country, giving concerts and appearing in all Festivals. The most famous were: Craven Tour with Magic System, Tata Pound, Kibaru…

In 2004 goes out the second album, Ta I Tola, with the collaboration of different artists like Amadou & Mariam, Manu Chao, King Massassi and Kisto Dem. SMOD is also the first rap group in Mali that receives a golden record for their song "Politic Amagni" ( The police is not good) , a piece of the album from Amadou & Mariam "Beau dimanche à Bamako".

At the moment, they are still playing, in Mali, in the Fimba Festival, Tamani Festival, in the Paris - Bamako for the second time with Manu Chao, Neneh Cherry, Oxmo Puccino…in raga, reggae and Hip Hop Festivals…

In Spring 2009, a new album will appear, produced by Manu Chao.
