Roçário Fado

The Spanish band, Roçário Fado, are a clear example that there are no boarders when it comes to experiencing music. They are from Cáceres but have a Portuguese soul, playing fado with the same passion as if they were from Portugal. Their repertory goes from traditional fados, to the called "fado novo" and even their own fados.

They don't use fusion or imitation, they create unique fado from Extremadura, respecting the traditional structure, themes and language of this music. Their songs are full of harmonic details, double-bass rhythms and dialogues between the "fadista" and guitars. A new sound, a new way to make fado, and they call it "Fado Fronterizo" or "Fado daquí".

La formación musical Roçário es un claro ejemplo de que no hay fronteras cuando se trata de sentir la música. Sus componentes son españoles pero interpretan el fado portugués con la misma entrega que si fueran del país luso. Hacen un recorrido por el fado lisboeta tradicional (el de la reina del fado, Amália Rodrigues) y también emocionan con el "fado novo", un fado renovado y más rico en matices. Incorporan fados de composición propia, en los que hablan de Lisboa, de Alfama, de alegrías inesperadas, de amores desgarrados y como no, de saudade portuguesa.
