Reitoku Kai's main objective is to promote Japanese Culture through Japanese Classical and Folk Dance in Singapore. Emphasis is placed more on the classical style of Hanayagi school of Japanese dancing as well as the importance on the fundamentals and proper understanding of the art of Japanese dancing.Trainer Mathaven s/o Krishnan Nair is involved in Japanese Folk and Classical Dancing since 1989. Since 1993, he has been under the tutelage of Ms Hanayagi Momonosato (President of Rei Sen Kai, Japan). Under her, he graduated as Master in Japanese Classical Dancing in 1994 and was given the stage name Naya Reitoku. He also trained under Mr Hanayagi Toyosaburo (3rd Hanayagi Master) since 1996. Mathaven has done private performances and some public performances on special invitations extended by People’s Association as well as commercial organisations. He has been teaching Japanese Classical Dance and Folk Dance in Singapore, to mainly Japanese expatriates staying in Singapore.
