Come and join in the fun and try to break open those piñatas!17.15 - 17.55 - Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze – Jamaican performance poetJean ‘Binta’ Breeze is a writer and performer of international standing. She first established herself as a key writer, performer and recording artist in her native country of Jamaica, where she studied at the Jamaican School of Drama. She was encouraged to come to Britain by Linton Kwesi Johnson and has since performed worldwide. Her work reveals a generous and uncompromising vision- exploring a wide range of personal, social and political issues – with a sublimely tuned lyrical sensibility. Jean brings all her artistic experience to bear on her work as a poet. She has a striking stage presence, generating all the power and excitement of a full-blown theatrical performance. 18.00 - 18.40 - Bollywood dancing from the Reading Hindu Temple Children’s Drama ClubThese young artistes are set to charm us with their delightful performance of Bollywood dancing. This is followed by a workshop inviting the audience to take part.Sat 18.45-19.20 Nepal Kingdom Foundation: Maurice Adshead will talk about a project to set up a Native American Tipi village in South Dakota as living museum of Sioux Life 1790. and Rose Moore from Native American Prisoners’ Association will talk about a campaign for better rights for imprisoned native Americans.
