Flautist? Beatboxer? At the same time?!

If you Google the words 'Indian', 'Scottish', 'flute' and 'beatboxing' (other search engines are available, of course), you'll come up with the name of just one man - Nathan Lee. After all, could more than one person on the entire planet come up with the notion of playing the flute while beatboxing? But this is no - ultimately pointless - novelty act, the musical equivalent of being able to make sandwiches with your feet. Oh no. Purveyor of fine sounds to the likes of The Prodigy, Asian Dub Foundation and Nitin Sawhney, Nathan's a former pirate radio jungle MC with a solid grounding in hip-hop and jazz. And, for that matter, Tchaikovsky. His live shows allow him to call up a team of highly talented musicians from right across our spinning globe who will - it says here - "take you on a magic carpet ride through the dusty streets of Asia and Central America via New York block parties and the grimy clubs of London". Have a good trip.
