Mazzamuto Quintet

From Sicily

Born in Palermo, studied at the Conservatory of State "V. Bellini "in Palermo with the prestigious Master Giuseppe Cataldo, obtaining a diploma in percussion classical instruments with the vote of 10/10, and the degree of level II with 110/110, praise and words for the thesis. At the beginning of his brilliant career, has won the public hearing as timpanist and percussionist at the Yung Italian Orchestra, which is composed of the most talented musicians of the Italian landscape, making part for 2 years during which he had the opportunity to work with Musicians of directors and internationally. Works so, as a percussionist with the Masters C. M. Giulini, R. Muti, G. Sinopoli, V. Globokar, Abbado, D. Gatti, E. Imbal, and has played in theaters more important in Italy as the theater Reggio di Torino, La Fenice in Venice, the Comunale of Bologna, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He has argued at several hearings Foundations Lirico - Symphonies by finishing amongst the top so that he played for the Theater Massimo Foundation, the Symphony Sicilian Orchestra Foundation, the Tuscany Regional Orchestra Foundation and other Foundations of national importance. Since 1998 lends his work as percussionist with the Symphony Sicilian Orchestra Foundation. He has written several books on ethnic percussion of the Mediterranean Area, and many methods used for classical percussion. Parallel to his classical training has placed it a ethnic and jazz, played, in fact, numerous concerts and international tours as a drummer and percussionist (particularly with ethnic percussion and Afro-Cuban) with prominent artists both in national and internationally, and has participated in numerous collaborations record. Composer and arranger, has to his credit many compositions: among these is the author of the music of the famous musical Father Joe, this was represented at the theater Brancaccio of Rome on December 22, 2008.
