Manjiri Kelkar has only recently shot to stardom as India’s finest classical young singer. Belonging to the Jaipur Atrauli gharana (style, tradition) she has a rare melodious voice and a fine sense of intonation - two essential gifts for a good singer. No musical festival in India is complete without Manjiri. Within the last few years, Manjiri has been invited more than once - to the envy of older masters - to all the five major Indian music festivals.
