Manantial Folk originate from Sierra de Gredos, an area rich in folklore, where Extremadura meets Castilla. Since their childhood Manantial Folk have had close contact with the traditional culture of this area and it is this that heavily influences their music.

Since 1982 they have been taking traditional folk music and, being particularly careful not to loose the magic of the original tune, modernising it. With 20 discographic works, 2 songbooks and more than 2000 concerts all around the country and the world, they stand out amongst the Spanish groups that attempt to update traditional music.
