La Luna

La Luna is a multi-national dance troupe formed especially for WOMAD Singapore 2003, and is choreographed by the Creative Production Group (CPG).The founding partners of CPG are Lisa Keegan and Emma Seward, both professional dancers, choreographers and directors. With training from London, New York and Sydney, these two talented ladies have appeared in numerous West End productions including Cats and 42nd Street.Drawing from a wealth of experience gained from television, feature films and live theatre, Lisa and Emma have choreographed many international events including concerts for Vanessa Mae, The Gypsy Kings and the HK Millennium Concert.With their expertise in performance arts, their diverse repertoire ranges from high energy extravaganzas featuring trapeze, large casts, amazing costumes and sets, to cosier shows where performers mix and interact with audience members.But, irrespective of scale, innovative choreography, superlative dancers and dazzling costumes runs a common thread to all of CPG's works. Indeed, CPG have gained an impressive reputation for innovative costume design, spectacular make-up and styling.Lisa and Emma have travelled extensively, entertaining and learning; and from their travels, they bring together many forms of dance and cultures, blending them together in one original gestalt.Certainly, La Luna, CPG's dance troupe formed especially for WOMAD Singapore 2003 is a reflection of this - as performers from around the world make their way here to be part of a unique collaboration.Many have danced for Lisa and Emma before - some virtually full time - and, this August, Emma will be joined by dancers from France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Spain.
