What do the following have in common: The OC, CSI: Miami, Heroes and The Chronicles Of Narnia? All four - and many more besides - have been adorned by the music of Imogen Heap, the British singer-songwriter who's tasted much more success on the other side of the pond than back home. This success - plus the not-insignificant resultant royalty payments - will have confirmed to her that there's no need to rush her art. Having released just three solo albums in the past 12 years, it's unsurprising that those records emerge crafted and accomplished. Seamlessly stitching together rock, pop and electronica, Imogen's songs achieve that rare distinction of being both personal and intimate, while also comfortably filling a broad canvas. These attributes, plus a keen eye and ear for technological innovation, mean we're far from the first to suggest she can rightfully be seen as a female version of a certain Mr Gabriel of this parish.
