Guillermo Rozenthuler is an accomplished singer, guitarist and composer from Argentina who has relocated to London after a more than a decade performing the length and breadth of South America. During his youth in Buenos Aires, Guillermo immersed himself in the melting pot of European, African and Asian influences that defines the musical landscape of the Argentinean capital. This year at WOMAD he will be presenting material from his latest release, ‘The Blue Hour’, which was recorded in Buenos Aires last January. His vocal improvisations and multi-faceted arrangements reflect the musical mosaic of the city, and his band – which includes the Uruguayan percussionist Andres Ticino and Argentinean guitarist Javier ‘Chino’ Fioramonti – will take you on an unforgettable musical journey through South America, stopping off for the occasional Tango en route. Guillermo is also an in-demand voice coach and activist on the London Latin scene. He regards the stage as a platform from which to open hearts and sow a little magic, with musical stories which he filters through his own remarkable voice, staying true to the traditions, history and enchantments of his native city.
