Biography supplied by management, March 2004:Fawzy is born between two rains at Basra (Iraq) towards 1950. He studied at the Music Institute of Baghdad the oriental traditional music: lute and lyrics, and also the occidental music: classic oboe. In Paris where he has lived since 1971, he refines the practice of the oboe and English horn. He is prizewinner of the National Music School of Boulogne (region of Paris).Paris-Baghdad GroovesIn FAWZY’s new show, his voice is liberated, and becomes the lead instrument. His new group combines acoustic and electric instruments and moves effortlessly from the traditional to the modern world, whilst preserving his legendary musical aestheticism and without losing his sense of fun and his love of life. The result is an innovative blend of oriental and western cultures, creating an inspirational experience in which the music of the world become the music of all worlds
