The Dream Engine was formed in January 1995 by Tim Petter and Steve Edgar to combine the talents of a pool of musicians, performers, makers and inventors in producing rare and wonderful performance events. Our core company can be expanded to include up to twenty artists and technicians, on a project-by-project basis.The company was incorporated in April 1997; its objectives are artistic and educational, and there is no mechanism for the distribution of profit.Our performance works divides evenly between public street arts festivals in the UK and Europe, and the corporate market-parties, product launches, expos and sports events right across the globe.For WOMAD 2007 The Dream Engine will be performing the Heliosphere show:Spiralling and spinning, the weightless Helionaut suspended beneath the helium balloon, explores the uncharted space between street level and rooftops.Using music, lighting and the site itself the Heliosphere show sets out to create the illusion of flying.
