2001 BiographyThe global musical melting pot of Paris is increasingly falling under the spell of urban club dance music. Digital Bled are lead by the supremely talented DJ Pedro, a Portuguese by birth and an internationalist by nature. The group harness a whole herd of North African musical flavours and tether them to the hi-octane house, break beat and trip hop rhythms of the here and now. There’s enough funk here to sink a battlecruiser and enough musical invention to have you transfixed on the dancefloor. Digital Bled’s debut album ‘Caravana’ on Sony France was one of the fusionistic highlights of last year and DJ Pedro’s remixes of Orchestre National de Barbès are obligatory in any self-respecting electro-Arabic DJ set.
