David Cox

David Cox is an artist, maker and facilitator. Jamaican ska and reggae artists and their music have always fuelled his imagination and provided inspiration and reference for so much of his work. David works with simple materials creating detailed and witty imagery both small and large scale. Working with paper, card, paint and wood (much of it recycled) he has developed his own distinctive approach and has exhibited through out the UK and internationally including Barcelona, Seattle, Prague and The Artshack at Sundance Festival in Utah. His shows have toured extensively in UK. For six years he was principal tutor on the 'Idea to Image' module at The University of West of England, working on 2D & 3D construction projects with fine art students.
David has a long- standing relationship with WOMAD festivals, having created installations, stage décor and artwork for publicity, marketing and CDs as well as leading artist in residence programmes. His work captivates children's imagination and his workshop sessions are accessible, fun and productive.
