Cara Dillon & Sam Lakeman

Cara Dillon comes from a family deeply immersed in the musical traditions of their native Derry in Northern Ireland. At the tender age of 14, Cara won the All Ireland Traditional Singing trophy and then joined the band Oige with whom she toured extensively. She went on to replace Kate Rusby in the new-folk super-group Equation before striking off to form a duo with fellow-Equationist Sam Lakeman. Cara sings with an assurance and originality that belies her youth and a clear beauty that bears witness to both effortless technical mastery and a deep sensitivity to her musical heritage.
