Buckwheat Zydeco

From United States

Rocking, stomping, good time Creole party music, is what Buckwheats all about.Old-time zydeco was sung in Creole French, and relied only on the accordion, a washboard, and perhaps drums. Buckwheat's early relationship with the accordion was anything but love at first sight. Despite, his fathers disapproval, he preferred funk and RnB.But realising that he couldnt deny his roots and in fact, he needed to preserve them, he infused zydeco with elements of rock, pop and soul, turning on up-and-coming generations to the black Creole music of southwest Louisiana.
