The playing is dazzling, the dexterity and complexity is without parallel in this genre every piece is packed with a compelling, humorous quality .its what he does with his damn hands that had the audience in hysterics, Folk Roots, London.Bob Brozman is a musician, entertainer, author, ethnomusicologist, and King of the National Guitar. A master of blues, slide, hot jazz, Hawaiian and Caribbean guitar styles, his wide-ranging performances keep audiences worldwide on the edges of their seats, laughing, marvelling and participating in his infectious rhythms. He is renowned for his on-stage guitar acrobatics he pounds his guitars like a full drumset, whips them up behind his head, spins them in the air, and all done between licks that leave guitarists scratching their heads! A guitarist since age 6, Bob discovered the National guitars at age 14, which led him to study music and ethnomusicology with an emphasis on the earliest roots of Delta blues. Bob is also a respected authority on historical Hawaiian music, and has produced five re-issue albums on the best of Hawaiian music from 1915 to 1935, as well as recording with the legendary Tau Moe Family. Following a meeting with the Nationals inventor John Dopyera, and much research into the fascinating art-deco era instrument, in 1993 Bob published the massive work The History and Artistry of National Resonator Instruments. He continues to be in demand on the subject, and his knowledge of musical history and arranging has enabled him to direct for stage, radio programs, film soundtracks and nine albums.
