Billy TK and the One World Peace Band

Billy T K has been making music for 40 years yet remains an intense and exciting guitarist, melding blues-rock with flowing Pacific rhythms.

He came to fame in the 60's for his Hendrix-inspired playing with Kiwi band Human Instinct, and later formed Powerhouse, supporting major acts such as UB40, Joe Satriani and the Neville Brothers. In 1996 he was invited to perform on-stage with his hero Carlos Santana, taking the solos on his version of Bob Marley's 'Exodus'. More recently he has collaborated with Flying Nun band King Loser, and hip hop act DLT.

Billy Te Kahika sees his music as a vehicle to promote world peace and unity and is joined for WOMAD by special guests Emma Paki (NZ) and American musician Gilbert Garcia.
