If you've got one successful parent, the weight of expectation - if you choose to follow their career's footsteps - is not exactly unweighty. Imagine, then, the burden on young Ben Taylor's shoulders when he announced to the family that, like both Mom and Pop, he was going into the family trade of singer-songwritery. Pop, you see, is James Taylor while Mom is Carly Simon - very tough acts to follow indeed. But tip your hat to Ben because he's emerged from their twin shadows to cut his own distinct figure, one that, following the praise of his most recent album Another Run Around The Sun, finds him a young man of accelerating acclaim and stature. Don't just take our word for it. Of that last album, Word magazine praised his "hammock-swinging, straw-chewing delivery" that echoed "The Lilac Time transplanted to an agreeable holiday home in the south of France".
