Adam F

Drum'n'bass: it's new, it's challenging - but one of its leading lights used to play keyboards for the Moody Blues! Adam F, a teenager at the time of his sojourn with the princes of prog rock, had grown up as a Peter Gabriel fan, and his expert musicianship earned him the job with the Moodys. But on his return he began listening to a lot of funk - principally Sly Stone - and that feel is still evident in his music today.

Born in Liverpool, Adam is the antithesis of the studio-bound techno-boffin producing soulless electronica. He's steeped in music, and drum'n'bass is, for him, a natural progression. His background also means that he feels it's important to have real musicians on stage, not just samplers and keyboards: the feel is central to the music. He scored an underground hit with his track 'Circles', which led to Goldie offering him a role in his Metalheadz club and label. Unfortunately, a car crash put him out of action for several months, but Adam is now back in action, preparing for a winter tour and discussing future collaborations with Everything But The Girl.
